In this role, he is building IHME\u2019s presence in the region through new research projects, dissemination and uptake of IHME\u2019s methods and results, and consultation with regional leaders in population health. He also leads the survey and surveillance activities at IHME with his expertise in survey methodology, health surveys, surveillance, chronic diseases and emergency and response.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prior to joining IHME, Professor Mokdad worked at the CDC.
