Judith Diers serves as the chief of adolescent development and participation at UNICEF. Trained across the disciplines of demography, public policy and ethics, Dr Diers leads UNICEF in identifying and supporting programmes and policies that realise the rights of adolescents as defined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. She has served as a member of the Institutional Review Board of the Population Council and is committed to developing ethical standards in research and programmes that appropriately balance the rights to protection and participation of adolescents. Dr Diers has authored numerous academic articles and functions as a reviewer for several leading journals on adolescent development.
